NORTH READING — The 35th Annual Horseshoe Grille Jimmy Fund Golf Tournament held on Sept. 21 was a huge success. COVID-19 did not dampen the participation nor the spirits of the players. The group filled the course to capacity, the fairways and greens were in excellent shape, and some great scores were posted partially due to how well the course was laid out.
A creative approach was needed to follow the proper protocols and it went off very smoothly thanks to the assistance of Chris Carter and his staff at the Hillview Golf Course. No event like this can’t be a success without the assistance from a strong group of volunteers. The Horseshoe Grille would like to thank Donna Anderson, Penni Mullarky, Jackie Arsenault, Carol Marenholz, Otto Marenholz, Patti Rocco, Rachel Whittemore, Brian Lee, Jackie Botzko, Brian F Lee, Veronica Lee, and Kathi Lee.
Individual winners were: longest drive: Nick Harron and Jill Heinstrom; straightest drive: Mark Tarpey; closest to the pin: Scott Orlosk.
Team winners were: first place: Hank Burke, Ed Burke, Scott Burke and Sean Wilson; second place: Nick Harron, Mike Dottolo, Pat Fitzpatrick and Vinny Ruschion; third place: Scott Ellis, Tim Haynes, Vince Bonnanno and Scott Orlosk.

The Horseshoe would like to thank all of the tournament’s sponsors:
“This has not been easy on families and businesses alike. To experience the outpouring of support for the Jimmy Fund and the tournament has made this year very special. Many of our sponsors have been supporting us for decades and we can’t thank you enough.”
The sponsors are listed seperately; please take a look and do what you can to support these businesses. The Horseshoe Grille is happy to have raised over 20K for the Jimmy Fund and Dana Farber for research. Their rally cry for this year has been “COVID has stopped many things but it hasn’t stopped cancer.”
