Former vice president for the Melrose Women’s Club
MELROSE — Elaine F. Pitts, of Melrose, passed away at her home on February 12, 2022, at the age of 82. Elaine was born and raised in East Boston and a graduate of Saugus High School. She went on to earn her degree from Boston State College and also her master’s degree from Harvard University. Elaine worked as a school teacher grades one through five for the City of Boston for 34 years and the City of Cambridge for five years prior to her retirement. She was a former vice president and assistant treasurer for the Melrose Women’s Club and was also a member of St. Mary’s Church for many years.
Elaine was the loving daughter of the late Frank J. and Charlotte B. (Morrison) Pitts. Caring sister of the late Arthur Pitts. Also survived by relatives and friends.
A graveside service was held at Wyoming Cemetery, 205 Sylvan St., Melrose on Thursday, February 17, 2022 at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Arrangements by the Gately Funeral Home, Melrose.
