MELROSE — In partnership with MMTV, Melrose Together is launching a new project to bring Melrosians closer together during these socially challenging times by connecting each other over personal conversations.
Melrose Together: One Small Step is inspired by StoryCorps, a national effort to preserve and share stories in order to build connections between people and create a more just and compassionate world. In close collaboration with Melrose Reads, One Small Step pairs neighbors with different beliefs, backgrounds, and stories for a conversation about their lives, not politics.
Conversations will be recorded at MMTV and shared as a weekly podcast with the Melrose community and preserved in the National Archives.
All Melrosians are invited to participate. Complete the registration on www.melrosetogether.com/melrosetalks to be matched with a conversation partner. Conversations will start recording March 16.
Melrose Together is a volunteer group that connects neighbors in need with neighbors who want to help during the COVID-19 pandemic. Melrose Together shares community-driven volunteer opportunities and organizes grassroots, city-wide events in an effort to sustain community spirit and support local businesses.
Previous efforts include Unicorn Day, Picnic Day, #ClapBecauseWeCare Friday Nights, and holiday meals for Housing Families.
