WESTON — On May 26 and May 30, the Lynnfield High girls’ track and field team participated in the Division 5 State Meet at Weston High School. The second day was supposed to have been the 28th but was postponed to Memorial Day due to the rain.
The Pioneers scored 21 points to place 12th overall out of 37 scoring teams as the top eight finishers in each event earn points while the top three qualify for the All-State Meet.
Riley Hallahan scored in three events. On the 26th, she was 4th in the discus with a toss of 92-6. The senior then placed 3rd in shot-put and 5th in the javelin on Memorial Day.
She had a distance of 35-4.5 feet in the shot put, 92’06” in the discus and tossed the javelin 100’10”.
“Riley was unbelievable,” stated Pioneers head coach Christine Smith. “She was seeded lower in all three of those events as she superseded expectations.”
In the Pentathlon on May 26, Maggie Davidson placed 8th out of 12 competitors.

“That was her first time doing that event and she worked her tail off,” said Smith.
Bianca Guarracino placed 4th in the pole vault at 8’6” on the 26th.
“I was very proud of her effort,” said Smith.
On June 4, Hallahan will throw the shot put in the All-State Meet at Westfield State University. That event will take place at 3 p.m.
In the regular season, Lynnfield ended up at 2-5 overall as they finished in second place behind Ipswich in the Cape Ann League Baker Division.
