MELROSE — Ruth E. (Riley) McKinnon, 82, of Melrose, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family on Oct. 7, 2022.
Ruth was born on Sept. 21, 1940 to the late Walter and Ruth (Stone) Riley. Ruth was raised in Melrose, and graduated from Melrose High School with the Class of 1958. She then furthered her education at the Chandler Professional School of Boston.
Ruth married the love of her life, Robert McKinnon, and they went on to spend 55 years together raising two wonderful sons.
Ruth enjoyed reading, traveling and taking family trips to many of Cape Cod’s beaches. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren Andrew and Molly.
Ruth was the beloved wife of Robert McKinnon. She was the dear and devoted mother of Stephen McKinnon and his wife, Debra Heroux, of Chelmsford; and Thomas McKinnon and his wife, Lissa, of Franklin. She was the loving grandmother of Andrew and Molly. She was the caring sister of Richard Riley and his wife Marilyn of Reading, and the late Robert Riley and his wife, Judi, of New Hampshire.
