NORTH READING – The North Reading Diamond Club hosted its 8th annual Golf Tournament on Friday, August 18.
While the day on the links was cut short due to weather-related factors, golfers, alumni and friends of North Reading baseball still gathered at the Moose Hall to celebrate a successful day of fundraising with raffles, auction items, and catering from the Horseshoe Grille.
This year the Diamond Club honored two community members with their Award of Appreciation in recognition of their contributions toward North Reading Baseball.
The 2023 recipients were Lena McCauley and Melissa Lee. Recent recipients have included Michael Connelly, Jon Bernard, Eddie Madden, Jerry Venezia and Tom Salemme.
Funds are raised through the generosity of sponsors and golfers and used primarily to enhance Carey Park and other field improvements, as well as scholarships presented to NRHS graduating seniors.
