Welcoming the Class of 2036

HERE ARE SOME members of the Melrose High Class of 2036.

MELROSEMayor Paul Brodeur held the annual Kindergarten Welcome Party for the City’s incoming kindergarteners — Melrose High School Class of 2036 — on Wednesday, August 23 at the Fred Green Field. The event provided an opportunity for the kindergarteners to meet their classmates and principals.

As part of Mayor Brodeur’s tradition that began in 2021, he provided every kindergartener with a size large “Melrose High School” t-shirt in the color that corresponds with their school: red shirts for Franklin, orange for Hoover, green for Horace Mann, yellow for Lincoln, purple for Roosevelt and blue for Winthrop, in addition to the traditional red pins received by every incoming class since the first Kindergarten Welcome Party in 2008 started by then Mayor Rob Dolan.

The Mayor’s Office thanked the six elementary school PTOs for their support and participation, the Melrose High School athletic teams who provided fun activities, the Melrose Public Library, the Bridge and SEPAC for providing important information to students and their families and the Melrose High School students who volunteered their time to help the Mayor’s office staff at the event. Additional thanks go to the Melrose Athletic Department, the Parks Department, the Department of Public Works and the Recreation Department for their support of this event.
