NORTH READING — The North Reading Senior Center has a new hot lunch program, “Mondays on the Move,” in collaboration with community partners Mystic Valley Elder Services (MVES) and Aldersgate Church.
Thanks to a grant from the Massachusetts Council on Aging, the new Aldersgate Church site at 235 Park St. will allow more seniors to attend, better parking and post-lunch entertainment or speaker.
The luncheon at Aldersgate on Monday, September 25 will include a discussion entitled “The Beauty in Flower-Arranging.” North Reading resident and member of the Garden Club, Judy Colburne, will provide ideas and suggestions for arranging flowers for your home. Colburne has been a professional floral designer since the 1970s and her expertise has been called on as a judge at national flower shows. The flower arrangements will be raffled off at the end of the demonstration.

Enjoy lunch at 12 p.m. and a presentation at 1 p.m. and perhaps leave with a beautiful floral gift! The luncheon is free for seniors (although a $2 donation is suggested). Reservations are required and need to be made by 4 p.m. on Thursday, September 21. Call the Senior Center at 978-664-5600. Transportation can be provided in the Senior Center van.
