North Reading boys hoop 6th grade champs

THE SIXTH-GRADE boys’ basketball team won the 2023 Fundamental Hoops Thanksgiving Tournament Championship title to start off their season on a great note. NORTH READING — The North Reading 6th grade boys’ basketball team brought home the crown and finished as Fundamental Hoops Thanksgiving Tournament Champions during the November break.

The team finished the tournament 3-1, losing a close first game to Peabody, but then followed with wins over North Andover, Methuen and a resounding 56-38 win over Marblehead in the championship game.

The team will attempt to carry this momentum into the regular season that kicks off December 2 against Swampscott.
