Devoted homemaker enjoyed Bingo, Foxwoods, crocheting blankets and being with family
NORTH READING – Janet M. (Fitzpatrick) Livingston, beloved wife of the late William Livingston, passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 82.
Born in Somerville on August 8, 1941, she was the loving daughter of the late Joseph and Jennie (Langone) Fitzpatrick.
Janet grew up in Somerville and attended Somerville schools. She met the love of her life, William, and together they settled in North Reading to raise their four boys. Janet worked part time jobs, but the most important one was making a home for her family. She enjoyed playing Bingo, going to Foxwoods, crocheting blankets, cooking and being with her family. Janet was never without her husband. They took drives, visited flea markets and loved being in each other’s company. Janet will be deeply missed by her boys, grandchildren and family.
Janet was the devoted mother of William Livingston of Venice, Florida; Robert Livingston of Daytona Beach, Florida; Dennis Livingston of Manchester, N.H.; and Scott Livingston and his wife Kim of Billerica. She was the cherished grandmother of Siobhan Meissner and her husband Bradley of Amesbury; Ashley Livingston of Medford, Oregon; Kayla Livingston of Billerica; and Matthew Livingston of Billerica; and the great-grandmother of Wolfgang Meissner. She was the beloved sister of Marilyn Fitzgerald of Somerville and the late Claire Howard of Medford. She also leaves several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held from the Cota Funeral Home, 335 Park St., North Reading on Wednesday, December 27 at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass celebrated in Janet’s name at St. Theresa’s Church, 63 Winter St., North Reading at 10:30 a.m. Burial followed in Riverside Cemetery, North Reading. Relatives and friends paid their respects at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 26.
