MELROSE — Marguerite “Margie” (Montalbano) Loycano passed away January 6. She was born in Medford to the late Charles and Katherine (Napoli) Montalbano. Margie was the wife of the late Jerome J Loycano, to whom she was married for 37 years. She is the beloved Mother of Charles and his wife, Diane Loycano, of Melrose; and Christine and her husband Jay Price of Brockton. Sister of Mary DiRusso of Everett. Grandmother to Christopher Loycano, Michael Loycano, Timothy Price and Amanda Price. She is also survived by her four nieces: Nancy and her husband Ken Dieselman; Janice and her husband Brian Norton; Tracey Burke; and Teri-Ann Gaudreau.

Margie graduated from Chamberlain Junior College and started her career at the Somerville Hospital. She was self-employed for the majority of career, working with her husband at the Elm Street Market in Everett. Margie was an avid reader and she enjoyed spending time at the Melrose Public Library. She was a phenomenal cook, encouraging and inspiring her family to cook and explore new recipes.

Visiting hours were held Thursday, January 11 from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. A mass of Christian burial was held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 11 at St. Mary’s Church, Melrose.
