MELROSE — A real rite of spring, Little League action gets underway this weekend with the annual parade of players, followed by a short ceremony at Lewis Monk Field on Tremont Street.
On Saturday, April 6, Melrose Little League will start the day at 8:30 a.m. as everyone convenes behind Memorial Hall on Main Street. Players will be grouped by their divisions and teams. Coaches and assistant coaches will lead their teams. Event organizers will begin the parade promptly at 9 a.m. and begin marching towards Lewis Monk Field (via Main and West Emerson Streets). The route is a little over 1⁄4 a mile and will take about 15 minutes. Water and light, packaged snacks will be available upon arrival at Memorial Hall lot.

Once the parade arrives at Lewis Monk Field, only coaches and teams will make it onto the field for a walk around the bases and will situate themselves on the field for the ceremony.
Attire
Showcase your MLL gear! Players should wear their MLL uniforms (hats and jerseys at a minimum) and any other branded gear. Comfortable shoes recommended for the walk.
Morning games
The ceremony at Lewis Monk will end by 10 a.m. and everyone will need to vacate the field immediately following to allow coaches to prep for the11 a.m. game. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
