THE NORTH READING POLICE Department celebrated the contributions of the town’s two women police officers, Meaghan Hudson (left) and Casey McAuliffe, on National Police Woman Day for their dedication, courage, and compassion. Roughly 10% of the nation’s police force is female and this annual acknowledgement on September 12 aims to both express gratitude to these officers and encourage stronger female representation in law enforcement. “With her unwavering commitment to community safety, Officer Hudson is a true role model in our department,” the NRPD stated in a post on their website recognizing the day. “Officer McAuliffe’s dedication and energy are already making a big impact on the community. We’re proud to have you on the team. Join us in honoring their exceptional service and the invaluable contributions of all women in law enforcement.” (NRPD Courtesy Photo)
