THE TOWN’S newest firefighter, Andrew Sievert, was appointed to the North Reading Fire Department on October 1 during a swearing in ceremony conducted by Town Clerk Susan Duplin. He is flanked by Deputy Fire Chief Barry Galvin (left) and Fire Chief Donald Stats. A 2010 graduate of Salem High School, he joins the department with eight years of firefighter experience with the Salem Fire Department where he began his career in 2016 following active duty in the U.S. Coast Guard. “Andrew is an EMT-B who also works part-time as a BLS provider for Action Ambulance on his days off and will be attending paramedic school in January,” Chief Stats said.
