Urgent need for ConCom members

NORTH READING — The town of North Reading is seeking multiple volunteers to serve on the Conservation Commission.  This Commission, which is appointed by the Select Board, is responsible for formulating local environmental protection policies and enforcing the state and local wetlands protection laws.

A viable Commission is important to all property owners in town as nearly all construction, renovations, septic installations and landscaping alterations require some form of conservation input and/or approval.  Experience is helpful but a resident with a willingness to learn about conservation is just as valuable.

Meetings are generally the third Tuesday of the month at 6 p.m. virtually on Zoom.  To learn more about the Commission’s role and responsibilities, please contact the Conservation office at 978-357-5247.

Those interested are asked to complete a Citizen Activity Form on the town’s website at https://northreadingmaboards.vt-s.net/newcaf.php or contact the Town Administrator’s Office at 978-357-5225 to receive a paper application.  Candidates may apply as soon as possible but no later than Friday, November 15 at 12 noon.
