NORTH READING — The community is invited to join the Ipswich River Community Chorus in celebration of “An Americana Holiday” this weekend.
Led by Music Director Katherine B. Foley, the IRCC presents its 2024 holiday concert at the Union Congregational Church, 148 Haverhill St. on Saturday, Dec. 14 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 15 at 4 p.m.
More than 80 singers will perform pieces that celebrate the unique musical traditions from different – and distinctly American – regions and cultures, from Appalachian carols to spirituals and classy holiday favorites. The chorus will be accompanied by pianist Miles Goldberg plus a number of local musicians.
Festive selections include “Children Go Where I Send Thee,” “Jingle Bells” (Streisand-style), “White Christmas,” “The Christmas Song,” “Mary, Did You Know?” (Pentatonix version), “Go Tell it on the Mountain,” “I Wonder as I Wander” and many more!
