NORTH READING — Astounding! The tally in the final week of the Transcript’s 35th annual Neighbor Helping Neighbor Fund drive on behalf of Christian Community Service more than doubled in the past week.
This was due, in large part, to three large donations and numerous other donations. We received $10,000 from Service Pumping & Drain Co., Inc. of North Reading, a $3,000 donation from a benefactor who wished to remain anonymous, and a $1,000 donation from Dental Health Concepts of North Reading!
We are extremely grateful to the many generous businesses and residents who continue to make it possible for us to support the year-round efforts of CCS, which does so much good to benefit the town’s most vulnerable individuals and families, mainly through the North Reading Food Pantry, which has served upwards of 100 families each month this past year.
All services provided by CCS are offered on the basis of financial need, not religious affiliation, if any. Requests for assistance are held in strict confidentiality. And because CCS is a 100% volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, donors to our fund can be assured that their donations directly benefit their neighbors in this town. No one affiliated with CCS has ever drawn a salary.
On this happy note, we bring the 2024 Neighbor Helping Neighbor Fund to a close. If anyone submitted a donation that was not acknowledged in the past five weeks please contact us and we will update our records accordingly. Thank you North Reading!
