Girls’ track takes 6th at Div. 4 State Relays

BOSTON — The Division 4 State Relays were held over the weekend at the Reggie Lewis Center and the Wakefield High girls’ team had many standout relays combine for a 6th place team finish, their best finish in years.  

The sprint medley relay team of Talia Galante (200meters), Abby Hartigan (200meters), Quin Wilcox (400 meters) and Lily Sallee (800 meters) placed a strong 3rd with a time of 4:22.39. The girls broke the school record and have qualified for Nike Nationals with their performance.  

The 4x 50 yard shuttle hurdle relay team of Megan Clark, Brianna Cribbie, Kyler Dennison and Isabella Fusco placed 7th overall in a time of  34.26.

The high jump relay team of Cribbie, Maya Palic, and Gurley Joseph placed 5th with a combined jump of 13’2.75”.

The 4×200 meter relay team of Galante, Hartigan, Wilcox and Dennison placed 6th with the fastest Wakefield time in at least 15 years of 1:52.16.

The distance medley relay made up of all freshmen that included Hannah Caplin (1200 meters), Kaylee Bosco (400 meters), Laurel Renzi (800 meters) and Ella Ferrell (mile) placed 3rd with a time of 13:49.75.
