In 2024, there were many highlights
MELROSE — The Melrose Farmers’ Market had a successful 30th season. Here are a few highlights of the season:
· It held 23 markets with upwards of 500 shoppers per market.
· There were almost 100 vendors over the course of the year, selling produce, eggs, honey, prepared foods, bread, baked goods, seafood, cheese, candy, coffee, tea, mead, juice, artwork, jewelry, crafts, personal care products, flowers, herbs/spices, snacks, pet food, and more; as well as several local for-profit, non-profit, and municipal organizations.
· Organizers hosted musicians, children’s activities, and/or family yoga at every market.
· And the market matched over $17,500 in SNAP funds, and our SNAP customers spent over $36,000 in Market Bucks/Market Match scrip.
Organizers would like to thank our sponsors for our all their support in enabling them to run a successful market and make the SNAP match possible:
· Northern Bank, Melrose Coop Foundation, and Farm Credit East for supporting our SNAP match program
· Mass Cultural Council for supporting our music program
· Giacomo’s Restaurant and Modern Legacy Law Group for hosting fundraisers
· Garden Aglow for sponsoring our Urban Garden Tour
· Bo Tsang Design and The Kitchen for general business sponsorship.
