Boys track edges Freedom rivals at ML Meet

WATERTOWN—The Melrose High boys indoor track team showed why they earned a ML Freedom league title with a solid 4th place showing at the 2025 Middlesex League Meet held at the Track at New Balance on Monday, finishing first among all Freedom League (small) competition. 

Winner Lexington, took both the boys and girls titles among the competitive ML 12 league teams. 

Melrose won several medals in the day. Among those athletes with the better showings included Sam Madden, who was bronze in the high jump, Brendan Radzik in the 55 dash, Caleb Barnes who was bronze in the 2 mile, and the 4×400 relay team of Matt Sarnoski, Adam Caldwell, Jonah Tully, and Dan Teittinen. 

Adam Caldwell medaled in 4th in the 600, and Giancarlo Martinis Torres was 4th in the 55 hurdles. And Max Lanciani was 4th in the high jump. Brendan Radzik medaled in 5th in the long jump. 

Next week Melrose will take part in the MIAA States, and have qualified several athletes who are expected to land on the podium. They include:
