PEABODY — On Sunday afternoon, the Lynnfield-Danvers High co-op gymnastics team had its final regular-season meet as they hosted Essex Tech at Yellow Jackets in Peabody.
The Falcons ended up winning the meet, 148.9-126.45, on Senior Day as Maddie Wescott and Lynnfield’s Camryn Donovan, the two captains, were honored before the meet.
“It was our best meet of the season,” stated Falcons head coach Jen Habeeb. “We hit our most routines all year and it was nice to see.”
With the victory, the Falcons finished at 6-1 overall as they came in second place in the CAL-NEC behind Masconomet, who was the only team to beat them.
Kaylee Wescott, Maddie’s sophomore sister, led the way again coming in first place in all four events as she had an all-around total score of 38.95. She had a 9.9 in the vault. a 9.6 on the bars, a 9.7 on the beam and a 9.75 on the floor exercise as she came in first against both schools in all four events.
“Kayee was incredible,” stated Habeeb. “She has won the all around in all seven of our meets.”

Donovan was second in the vault (9.55) and on the floor (9.7). She was also third on the bars (8.6) and was second in the all-around (36.25).
Her younger sister, Callie, came in third on the beam (9.2) and on the floor (9.25).
Lynnfield-Danvers also had two other seconds with Maddie Wescott on the bars (9.5) and Delainy Murphy on the beam (9.3).
Lynnfield’s Sophia Catinazzo, captured third in the vault at 9.3.
On Jan. 30, the Falcons won a tri-meet against Hamilton-Wenham and host Beverly at the Beverly YMCA.
Lynnfield-Danvers scored 144.1. Hamilton-Wenham was second at 133.65 while Beverly was third with 129.95.
“We had a good overall meet,” said Habeeb.
Kaylee Wescott won all four events against both schools with an all-around total of 38.25. She had a 9.7 on the vault, a 9.35 on the bars, a 9.5 on the beam and a 9.7 on the floor.
Camryn Donovan tied Catinazzo for third on the vault at 9.25 and Donovan also tied for third on the beam at 8.75 with a gymnast from Beverly. She was also third on the floor with a 9.2.
Maddie Wescott placed second on the bars at 9.25 while Murphy was second on the beam at 9.1.
The next meet for the team will be on Feb. 17 at the State Individuals. That event will take place at Tewksbury High. The all-around competitors will start at 1 p.m. while the other individual events will start at 4 p.m.
