Nancy Thompson Foote, 90

Wonderful sense of humor and quick wit

WAKEFIELD — Nancy (Keith) Thompson Foote, age 90, a longtime resident of Melrose and Wakefield passed away peacefully on Monday, February 3 at Winchester Hospital.

She was born in Malden on September 20, 1934, daughter of the late Lewis H. Keith and Elizabeth (Pierce) Keith. For many years, Nancy worked as a Medical Secretary at Mass General Hospital in Boston. She married Edward Thompson (deceased) in 1959 in Athens, GA and had a son David Keith Thompson. Nancy married David Foote (deceased) in 1976 in Melrose. Nancy always loved day trips to the seaside in Gloucester for fishing and visiting with her cousin Nancy Fifield and her husband Dick (deceased).

Nancy was also predeceased by her only sister Susan (Clarence) Reynolds, her other cousin Polly (Bob) Kempes and her grandson David Thompson II. She is survived by cousin Nancy Fifield’s children Doug (Linda) Fifield; Jayne (Andrew) Knott; and Polly Kempes’s children Eddee (Lynn Kapitan) Daniel; David (Martha) Daniel; Steven Daniel; and Donna (Jeff) Totten. Also grandchildren of son David (Nannette) Kieth: Alicia Thompson and Elizabeth Thompson.

Known for her wonderful sense of humor and quick wit, Nancy was always surrounded by lots of laughter. In 2015, she moved to the Arbors Assisted Living Facility in Stoneham where she was content and happy. May she rest in peace.
