BOSTON — The Lynnfield High girls’ track team competed at the Division 5 state meet on Monday at the Reggie Lewis Track Center in Boston. The meet was supposed to have been the day before but was postponed due to the weather.

Even though Lynnfield did not score any points, there were still some good performances.
Emma Greenleaf competed in the 55-meter hurdles and had  a time of 10.21.

“This was not a personal record for her but competing in this meet as a sophomore should give her a confidence boost moving forward,” said Pioneers head coach Bill Wallace.

Caitlin Buonconti ran the 1000-meters in 3:37.89.

“I was happy that she was able to finish up her track career with a season-best time,” said Wallace.

Lauren Mattia competed in the 600-meters and had a personal-best time of 1:48.84 to place 11th overall.

“Even though she just missed scoring, I was happy to see her finally break 1:50 in her event,” said Wallace. “Hopefully this will be a springboard for her going into the spring track season.”

Abby Lopez had an impressive performance in the two mile as she ran a time of 12:34.50. It was a personal-best by nine seconds and good enough for 12th overall.

“Her hard work and dedication is really starting to pay off,” said Wallace. “I am looking forward to seeing what she can do in the spring season.”

In the regular season, the Pioneers went 2-2 as they finished in third place in the Cape Ann League Baker Division.
