Geraldine Rowe

Her grandchildren fueled her zest for life

WAKEFIELD — Geraldine “Geri” Rowe, a long-time Wakefield resident passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 20.

Geri was born in Melrose on January 7th, 1960 to the late Francis O’Brien and Jeanne O’Brien (Usher). Geri was a well-known figure in the town of Wakefield. For over 15 years, she held the position of branch manager at The Savings Bank in Greenwood. She held many volunteer positions in the town, as well including time spend with the Citizen Scholarship Foundation. As branch manager, her warm smile and engaging conversation, captivated her customers even when they were not there for banking! Geri was always going above and beyond for those that had the privilege of banking at the Greenwood branch.

Although she thoroughly enjoyed her years with the bank, her real love and zest for life stemmed from her love for her three amazing grandchildren: Riley, age 12; Chase, age 4; and Colton, age 1. As a Nana, Geri shined the brightest. There was nothing that she loved more than spoiling her grandchildren to the core. To witness the bright faces of her grandchildren when she walked into a room was to know genuine and true love. Her light, her love and her smile will live on through them for years to come.
