Town Election vote-by-mail deadline April 1

LYNNFIELD — The Town Clerk’s Office mailed ballots on March 12 to voters who have already requested to vote-by-mail in the April 8 Town Election.

“As a reminder, the 2022 VOTES Act required the state to send a postcard application to each voter, but only on years in which state elections occur,” said Town Clerk Amanda Haggstrom.

“There are no state elections held in 2025, so while ‘no excuse’ vote-by-mail is permanent, voters must be proactive and submit an application to our office by April 1 at 5 p.m.”

People can request a ballot through the state portal, which will then get transmitted to the Town Clerk’s Office. Residents can also submit a paper application that is available online and in the Town Clerk’s Office.

“Ballots must be returned back to the Town Clerk’s Office, not the polling place, by 8 p.m. on April 8 to be counted,” said Haggstrom.

The deadline to register to vote for the Town Election is Friday, March 28 at 5 p.m.

There will be no in-person early voting for the Town Election.
