Avid Red Sox fan, loved country music and the beach
MELROSE — It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lisa Marie Stone, age 57 of Melrose on March 25.
She was born on March 19, 1968 to Rosalie Yurashus and was raised in Lynn alongside her beloved sister Laurie Thomas. Lisa was a proud graduate of Lynn Classical High School, Class of 1986 carrying the spirit of her hometown with her throughout her life. In her adult years, she created a home in Melrose where she raised her cherished family. Lisa was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend known for her kindness, warmth and boundless love for her family and friends.
Lisa met the love of her life Donald Stone in 1986 and together they shared 34 years of marriage filled with love and adventure. They built a life full of joy and laughter and some of her fondest memories were of the family trips to Aruba.
Lisa was the true heart of every family gathering, passing down traditions that would last a lifetime. She never let her kids go to bed on Christmas Eve without new pajamas. She was the family’s biggest cheerleader, ensuring that every birthday, wedding or graduation was special.
In her free time, Lisa was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox always cheering them on with her family and quick to make last-minute plans to head into Fenway Park. She had a deep love for country music and nothing made her happier than a day spent at the beach, enjoying the sun and sand with a hot Dunkin’ Donuts coffee in hand.
Lisa’s spirit and loving presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her selflessness, compassion and devotion to her family will be remembered forever.
Lisa was the proud and loving mother of Jessica C. Stone (Garofalo) and her husband Anthony Garofalo; Matthew P. Stone and his wife Sarah Ghozayel; Jacqueline M. Hayes (Stone) and her husband Robert Hayes; and Jillian N. Stone and her boyfriend Omar Abbas.
