MELROSE — The very popular “Senior’s Day at the Park” event will be held at the clubhouse at Mount Hood Memorial Park & Golf Course on Tuesday, May 13 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Come join us at Mount Hood and enjoy the day inside the beautiful and rustic setting of the clubhouse. This year’s presentations include: A lecture by local Medford historian Dee Morris on local Melrose resident Mary Sargent Hopkins, a 19th century American’s woman’s health advocate and bicycle enthusiast, as well as a lecture by Myron Dittmer on the history of Mount Hood Memorial Park and Golf Course.

Lunch and refreshments will be served and later attendees will travel up to the 4-story, stone Slayton Tower, the highest point in the park, to experience the panoramic view of the area including the mountains of New Hampshire, Revere Beach, and the Boston skyline.
