Joseph Savarino

Enjoyed lobstering, fishing and cooking

KINGSTON, NH — Joseph P. Savarino of Kingston, NH passed away at home after a brief illness.

Joe was born and raised in Melrose. He was a graduate of the coordinated MHS/N.E. Voke academic and vocational program which provided the training for an early career in autobody work and management. In recent years, Joe operated a successful company drilling and maintaining wells in NH.

Joe found happiness and satisfaction through a range of interests all involving being outdoors in NH. Lobstering, fishing and hunting were favorite activities. He and his partner Barbara raised and cared for a variety of animals, from chickens and turkeys to horses and Scottish Highland cattle. Joe even enjoyed long hours of plowing snow on the roads of Kingston. Cooking was another special interest, it’s in the family blood! Joe built a smokehouse and delighted in sending photos of the different smoked foods that he cooked.

Joe was the son of the late Arthur and Rola (Spadafora) Savarino; brother of the late John and Richard  Savarino. He is survived by his longtime companion Barbara Kuznicki of Kingston; brother Robert and wife Nancy of Melrose; several nephews; one niece; and several cousins.

Private arrangements were made by Brewitt Funeral Home, in Exeter, NH.
