TSF announces new permanent fund: The Live Like Leah Ellis Fund

WAKEFIELD — The Scholarship Foundation of Wakefield, Inc. (TSF) is pleased to announce the establishment of the Live Like Leah Ellis Fund as a new permanent fund. Beginning in June 2025, a scholarship will be awarded in Leah’s name to a local student pursuing education beyond high school.

Leah spent her entire life in Wakefield, attending Greenwood Elementary School and was a seventh-grade student at the Galvin Middle School. In her honor, Leah’s family established this fund to celebrate a young girl whose boundless enthusiasm for life touched everyone around her. She had a deep love for music, dance and crafts like crocheting, as well as a passion for animals, scouting, summer camp and trips to Cape Cod.  Leah found joy in helping others, embracing new challenges and cherishing time with family and friends. This fund serves as a tribute to her memory and spirit, carrying forward her legacy of kindness, joy and selflessness; encouraging all to “Live Like Leah.”

Contributions to the Live Like Leah Ellis Fund are encouraged to help the fund grow and provide increased awards. Donations can be made to TSF of Wakefield, P.O. Box 321, Wakefield, MA 01880.  Online donations can be made by visiting TSFofWakefield.org/donate. Please include the name of the fund with your donation, either on the check memo line or by adding a message/fund name with your online donation.

Founded in 1960, The Scholarship Foundation of Wakefield is dedicated to providing financial assistance to Wakefield residents pursuing full-time higher education. In addition to supporting students, TSF administers over 600 scholarship funds established by community members to honor individuals, families, businesses and organizations.
