NORTH READING — Superintendent of Schools Patrick C. Daly, Ed.D., announced on Tuesday that Julie Sciamanna has accepted the School Department’s offer to become the next principal of the E. Ethel Little Elementary School.
She will succeed the school’s current principal, Christine Molle, who is retiring at the end of June. Sciamanna and Molle will begin the transition in advance of her official July 1 start date.
“Ms. Sciamanna is currently the Literacy Coordinator at North Beverly Elementary School, a role she has served in for the past four years. Through this experience she has functioned as the designee for building-based leadership and works side-by-side with her current principal on all aspects of the educational experience,” Daly stated in a letter sent to the E. Ethel Little School community. “Prior to her time in this role Ms. Sciamanna also served in the classroom as a Grade 2 teacher at North Beverly for seven years as well as four years as an elementary teacher in Lynn and Salem.”
“Throughout every stage of the process we learned more about our candidates and we emerged with two excellent finalists. We believe that this strong pool speaks to the tremendous opportunity that working with the students and staff at the Little School presents for those seeking that next step in their career,” added Daly.
He offered his thanks to all involved in this process, including the search committee as well as students, staff, family, and community members “who participated by providing feedback during our interviews, panels, and following our site visits.”
Daly will introduce Sciamanna to the community at an upcoming School Committee meeting.
