MELROSE — Thanks to a generous grant from the Melrose Cultural Council, Melrose Jazz Fest will take place on Sunday, May 4 at Follow Your Art Community Studios, 647 Main St., Melrose. This event is free, family friendly and open to everyone.
“We’re really excited to bring incredible jazz music to a wide and multigenerational audience,” says Oren Santillo, the creator and producer of the event. “We are so excited to see the community come together to support great music.”
The day will feature five professional jazz groups: Oren Santillo Jazz Collective, Joe Mulholland Sextet, Betty’s Bounce, Jon Bean Quartet, and Gateway Jaz.
La Cabaña food truck will be on site as well as Green Street Grooves.
There will be Melrose Jazz Fest t-shirts and stickers for sale.
“I am so happy that FYACS can host this event,” says Kris Rodolico, director of FYACS. “Oren has had a clear vision from the beginning for what this event can be for the community and it’s really exciting to see it come together.”
