Play ball! Little Leaguers are ready for new season

THE Reds, Red Sox, Royals, Pirates, Cardinals and Mets were represented in fine fashion bye these youngsters at the on Opening Day at Lewis Monk Field.

 

THE PIRATES are ready to make some noise during the 2025 Melrose Little League season.

MELROSE — Melrose Little League’s Opening Day Parade was Saturday, April 5.

The traditional parade began at 9 a.m. at Memorial Hall, with the players, coaches and families walking down Main Street before turning onto West Emerson Street and Lake Avenue and arriving at Lewis Monk Field on Tremont Street.

 

YOUNG BALLPLAYERS braved the elements during Opening Day ceremonies at Lewis Monk Field.

At approximately 9:30, a short on-field ceremony honored the volunteers and players, commencing with the National Anthem sung by MHS 9th grader Madison Ogiba, and the ceremonial first pitch by Ryan and Chris Rescigno.

 

NINTH GRADER Madison Ogiba sang the National Anthem at this year’s Opening Day event.

 

Eric Doyle was presented with the Siciliano Family Award for Volunteerism for his years of dedication as a volunteer to Melrose Little League.

 

THESE MEMBERS of the Brewers marched in the Opening Day Little League Parade on April 5.
