Enjoyed his Harley and loved football and boxing
WAKEFIELD — Francis “Frank” Lisitano, age 76 of Wakefield, passed away on Sunday, April 20 at the Seacoast Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Gloucester.
He was born in Boston on December 7, 1948 and was the son of the late Alfio and Pauline (Gilberto) Lisitano. Frank was a hardworking man who was dedicated to making a better life for his family. He was the owner of Lisitano Produce, Inc in Chelsea from 1992 to 2020 where he enjoyed selling the finest fruits and vegetables in the business. He was the General Manager of Native Produce, Inc in Chelsea from 1980 to 1991. He was the owner of Go Bananas Retail Produce on Salem St. in Boston 1978 to 1990. He was the owner of Four Corners Market in Wakefield from 1976 to 1978. He proudly owned and operated a pushcart at the Haymarket Pushcart Association on Blackstone St. in Boston from 1965 to 1992.
Frank was a life-long avid motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed his Harley-Davidson on many road trips with his wife and three sons. He had a passion for sports, especially football, baseball and boxing. He especially enjoyed coaching his three sons in Wakefield Little League baseball and also contributed as a little league umpire.
Frank had a small group of close personal friends with whom he enjoyed regular lunch meetings with at the former Roadside Tavern and later 621 Tavern in Malden. Frank also had a passion for dice and enjoyed many trips to Las Vegas and Foxwoods with his wife and friends.
Frank was the beloved husband of Shirley (Wright) Lisitano for 57 wonderful years. He was the loving father of Alan Lisitano and his wife Andrea of Middleton and Michael Lisitano of Arizona. He was predeceased by his son Anthony Lisitano. He was the cherished grandfather of Anthony, Ava and Alana Lisitano.
