NRHS PRINCIPAL Anthony Loprete (right) and Visual Arts teacher Andrew Dexter were proud to take a moment to celebrate the accomplishment of 11th grade artist Stevie Schomp (center) who was awarded a Silver Key in the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards in the self-portrait category titled “A Portrait of the Past.” The annual contest is hosted by the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University. Stevie created the mixed media piece in response to an Advanced Placement 2D Art and Design Inquiry Statement that speaks to expressing moments of an artist’s past through vibrant colors and expressive shapes.
