Elisa Marie Magliozzi, 59

Loved traveling, riding on the Harley and playing Keno

WAKEFIELD — Elisa Marie Magliozzi, 59, of Wakefield, passed away peacefully at her home on May 10. She was surrounded by her loving husband and family after a courageous 22-year battle with multiple sclerosis. Elisa was a cherished wife, daughter, sister, aunt, godmother, niece, cousin and friend. She was the daughter of the late Anthony Pacillo Jr. and Emily Pacillo, the daughter-in-law of the late Cosmo and Dorothy Magliozzi and sister-in-law of the late Michael Magliozzi.

She was the beloved wife of 24 years to Kevin Magliozzi; the loving and adoring mother to Colby; dear sister to Anthony Pacillo III, Michelle Villamia and Lori Presho and her husband Charles Jr.; and cherished aunt of Arianna, Anthony IV and Ava Pacillo; Ariana Villamia; and Joseph, Michael and Charles Presho III; and great aunt to Eddison Bowe. Elisa was the godmother to Ariana Villamia and Charles Presho III.

Elisa was an amazing young woman. She grew up in Reading and loved being a cheerleader on the Reading High School team. Elisa made a career of waitressing at Harrows and bartending in the North End and other places. She was a favorite of numerous customers and developed many long-lasting friendships from her days working. From the day she and Kevin met at Fridays on Route 1, 26 years ago, she became his best friend and biggest supporter. Elisa loved traveling and was happiest sunbathing on the beach or by the pool, riding on Kevin’s Harley Davidson motorcycle and playing her Keno numbers at nearby restaurants which Kevin still plays to this day in her honor.

She gave birth to a beautiful son Colby who has been the light in their eyes every day of their lives. She was always there when he got home from school and Kevin got home from work with words of support and encouragement. She especially loved going to Colby’s school and sporting events whenever she was able to since the temperature is a big factor for people with MS. Sadly, two months after Colby was born, Elisa was diagnosed with MS. Although she struggled for many years, what she could not give physically, she more than made up for with her emotional support and guidance.

Many people struggle each day to manage a condition that cannot be cured. Elisa always had a positive attitude and never complained or said why me? She just lit up the room with her smile and just kept fighting. We are forever grateful to the people who were always there for us through the ups and downs, the good times and the bad. Elisa will always be remembered, loved and missed by everyone who knew her. We will never let her spirit die and she will live on forever within Kevin and Colby.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Tuesday, May 20 from 4 to 8 p.m. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St., Wakefield on Wednesday, May 21 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
