WAKEFIELD — Ida Montgomery, 94 a longtime resident of Wakefield died Monday, May 26 at the Melrose Wakefield Hospital. 

Born in Tabusintac, New Brunswick, she was the daughter of the late James and Mary (Murray) Loggie. Ida moved to the United States in 1948. She married her husband John in 1950 and settled in Wakefield. During her working years she ran a local Daycare Center in town. Ida was the oldest living member of the First Parish Congregational Church. She enjoyed crochet, knitting, crafts and especially loved to travel.

Ida was the beloved wife of the late John Montgomery. She was the loving mother of Dana Montgomery and his partner Diane Elza of Monroe, WA and the late Deborah Donnelly. She was the mother in law to Ann Montgomery. She was the grandmother to Mitchell Donnelly; and John and Katheryn Montgomery; and great grandmother to Andrew Donnelly. Ida was also predeceased by three children: Daniel, Douglas and Lloyd.

The visitation for Ida will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Friday, May 30 from 4 to 6 p.m. Her funeral service will be held at the First Parish Congregational Church, 1 Church St., Wakefield on Thursday, June 5 at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield.
