Remembering Michael Salvatore

Directors of the Hartshorne House deserve our praise for a lot of reasons, but a recent move to honor one of their own exemplified their goodness.

The directors recently dedicated a very special remembrance for the late Michael Salvatore, a two-time past president of the Hartshorne House Association and longtime director, who lost his 10-year battle with cancer last year at the age of 54.

Mike was an educator and musician as well as a life-long devotee of historic preservation and of course, he loved the Hartshorne House.

The musical “G Clef” iron ornamentation was placed in the House’s garden to nestle among the growing spring and summer flowers and to bring a reminder of Mike.
