READING — Over Memorial Day weekend, Mary O’Leary, a proud U.S. Marine Corps veteran and native of Wakefield, celebrated her 103rd birthday surrounded by family, friends and fellow residents and associates at The Residence at Pearl Street in Reading.
The celebration honored both her extraordinary milestone and her distinguished military service. Local Veterans Officers Will Valleire of Reading and Dave Mangan of Wakefield presented Mary with a special tribute from the Massachusetts Executive Office of Veterans Services in recognition of her service.
The event began with a blessing by Pastor Fr. Bobby and featured live musical entertainment by guitarist and vocalist Brian Corcoran.
Guests came together to honor Mary’s remarkable life, legacy and commitment to her country.
