MELROSE — The City of Melrose is sharing the following updates for the upcoming week:

Last day of school is June 13

Summer vacation is almost here for Melrose Public Schools students: the last day of school is Friday, June 13 (12 p.m. dismissal). Have a safe and fun summer!

Curbside yard waste pickup next week

The Department of Public Works will collect yard waste on regular trash and recycling pick-up days during the week of June 9, 2025. Yard waste includes: Leaves, grass clippings and brush up to one inch in diameter (bundled and tied). No dirt allowed. Yard waste must be placed curbside in a maximum of 10 paper leaf bags or barrels. All bags and barrels must be less than 45 gallons and 45 pounds. Barrels must be labeled with “Yard Waste” stickers, which are available at no cost at the Public Works Operations Facility at 72 Tremont St. Yard waste barrels without stickers will not be picked up with other yard waste and cannot be picked up as trash.
