NORTH READING — The 8th annual North Reading girls’ field hockey camp will take place at North Reading High School Aug. 4-7 on the turf field (rain date Aug. 8). The camp runs from 9 a.m. to noon each day.

This will be the third year the camp is run by North Reading High head coach Mikayla Allen, who will start her third season for the Hornets in September.

The camp is open to players who are entering second through eighth grade this fall regardless of experience.

“We will be working on skills like stick-work, ball-handling and also play some mini-games,” said Allen. “The camp will be run by the varsity team, along with me.”

Players must bring their own equipment (sticks, googles and a mouth-guard).

The camp is open to players from everywhere. For North Reading residents it is $170. For out of town residents it is $175.

Participants are encouraged to bring water bottles and snacks.

For more information you can email Allen at mallen@nrpsk12.org. To register, you can go to the North Reading Parks and Recreation site at northreading.ma.myrec.com.

From there, click on register and go to programs. The field hockey camp is under Summer Camps/Clinics.
