Incredible piano player who loved music
JUPITER, FL — Rand J. Kelley passed away peacefully in Jupiter, FL on Saturday, June 22 surrounded by family and friends, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 59 years of age. Rand was born and raised in Melrose and graduated from Melrose High School, class of 1984. He worked as a volunteer at the Melrose Wakefield Hospital for almost 20 years.
Despite being challenged with several lifelong health issues, he never complained and was always kind and had a great sense of humor. An incredible self-taught piano player, he entertained everyone at family gatherings and even played at nursing homes around Melrose. He loved listening to music of all genres, but especially his two favorite bands The Doors and The Beatles.
Mr. Kelley was the cherished son of Patricia A. (Shinay) Kelley of Jupiter, FL and the late John J. Kelley; loving brother of the late Scott J. Kelley; Kris J. Kelley and his wife Tammy of Daufuskie Island, SC; Gregg J. Kelley and his wife Laura of Jupiter, FL; and Glen J. Kelley of Jupiter, FL. Uncle of Andrew, Shane, Gregg Jr., Jake and Ryan Kelley. Also survived by a grandniece and two grandnephews in addition to an uncle and several cousins.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 27 at 11 a.m. at Wyoming Cemetery, 205 Sylvan St., Melrose. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
