THE 1988-89 Middlesex League champion Melrose High boys’ basketball team met for a reunion recently, set up by coach Nick Papas. The team, which is in the MHS Hall of Fame, went 18-0 in the league, a first in MHS hoop history, and ended up as the Div. 1 State runners-up. The team was led by co-captains John Overlan and Chuck Byrne and included Jim Slattery, Shaun Morgan, Rich Green, James President, Tom Robillard, Bob Camelio, Scott Somerville, Justin Gregg, Dave Campbell, Paul Berrigan, Chris Anderson, Terry Hurley, Erik Hanson, David Di Gangi and Rob Dolan.
