MELROSE — Melrose Police Officer Kyle Roche graduated from the Cambridge/Northeastern Police Academy on Friday, June 13, 2025.
Officer Roche was hired and started the academy back in January after a hiring process that began in the summer/fall of 2024.

After approximately six months of intense academy training, he will now begin another 10 to 12 more weeks of on-the-job field training with experienced mentors and field training officers of the Melrose Police Department, including emergency 911 training.
Chief Kevin Faller wanted to reaffirm that the process of hiring Officer Roche began more than nine months ago. He is a new hire but it has taken him this long to get here.
A Police Department spokesperson said, “Welcome aboard, Officer Roche!”
