‘Affordable’ units available at The Basin

THE FIRST TENANTS are expected to move into “The Basin,” at the head of the Lake on Aug. 1. The Zoning Board of Appeals last week voted to recommend that a Certificate of Occupancy be issued for Building 1 by Building Inspector Ben DeChristoforo.

The Basin, located on the shores of Lake Quannapowitt in Wakefield, is a residential redevelopment at 200 Quannapowitt Parkway. Out of 440 units, 79 units will be designated as income-restricted or “affordable” to households earning at or below 80 percent of Area Median Income. 

This property will be broken up into three lottery phases. Applications are now being accepted for phase two which has 67 units available. Amenities include a fitness center, on-site restaurant, bike storage, common lounges, common rooftop terraces, co-working spaces, outdoor grilling areas and an outdoor pool.

Applicants must meet certain eligibility requirements and submit an application to Maloney Properties by September 23.
