LYNNFIELD — Local artists Heidi Reynolds and Yvonne Blacker have been named as the Lynnfield Art Guild’s (LAG) co-presidents for the 2025-2026 year.
Past presidents Cheryl Chisholm and Cathy Grasiello will remain active members of the LAG board.
Reynolds is an art educator, community-based artist and the owner of Re-Create Studio in Lynnfield (re-createstudio.com). She earned her post baccalaureate and master of fine arts from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. Reynolds works in a variety of mediums, including painting, sculpture, installation and video.
Reynolds is passionate about engaging with the community through her art and helping others find their creative voices. She has worked with a variety of populations, including providing art instruction at Lynnfield Community Schools, Northeast ARC, Rosie’s Place, Follow Your Art, Forestdale Senior Center and the Cross-Cultural Collaborative in Ghana. She looks forward to helping build community amongst the thriving art population in Lynnfield. Reynolds and her husband, Ken, live in Lynnfield with their eight-year-old twins Willow and Cole.
“I see stepping into the role of co-president of the Art Guild with Yvonne Blacker with a huge opportunity to enhance the cultural footprint and creative collaboration in Lynnfield,” said Reynolds. “The previous leadership built such a strong foundation that Yvonne and I can jump right in and expand the reach and mission of the Guild. I’m really committed to increasing our impact on the community through art service projects, connecting with our youth members and providing more education and exhibition opportunities for our members. I love seeing people connect over art and art making and hope to bring a lot more of that to Lynnfield.”
Blacker is a graphic designer and botanical artist who creates nature inspired works of art for fabrics, wallpapers and print-on-demand products that often feature florals that she hand-picks from her own backyard gardens. Her online shop, DuckPetals.com, showcases her custom collections along with a curated selection of farmhouse themed goods. She teaches both in-person and virtual workshops that focus on encouraging creativity such as floral arranging and creating art with flowers.
In addition to the LAG, Blacker is also an active member of the Village Home and Garden Club of Lynnfield, where she serves as coordinator of the annual Art in Bloom event held each spring at the Lynnfield Public Library. She has lived in Lynnfield for over 20 years with her husband, John, and their four sons, who have all graduated from Lynnfield High School.
“I have always worked in an art related field, so one of my goals as co-president of the Lynnfield Art Guild is to shine a light on what’s possible when it comes to creative careers,” said Blacker. “I’m looking forward to working with Heidi to connect our members – of all ages – with online tools that will help them to learn, grow and market their art, while inspiring their own creative journeys with art-focused events designed for community engagement.”
For almost 60 years, the Lynnfield Art Guild has been a force for visual arts in the region with members from over 14 surrounding communities. The Guild’s mission is to encourage and inspire an appreciation for and love of art. The Lynnfield Art Guild provides a platform for over 100 painters, photographers and artisans to network, learn and display and sell their work with a variety of events including two annual art shows, monthly art demonstrations and newsletters and member get-togethers.
Membership in the Lynnfield Art Guild is open to artisans, photographers and artists of all levels, with student, supporting and family memberships also available. The Lynnfield Art Guild is a nonprofit, member-lead organization that provides annual scholarships to graduating seniors.
