Town Day returns to Ipswich River Park Sept. 14

NORTH READING — The Reading-North Reading Chamber of Commerce is counting down the days to North Reading Town Day. It will be held at Ipswich River Park, 15 Central St., on Sunday, September 14 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This is a rain or shine event; there is not rain date.

Back again will be Town Day favorite features, including pony rides and the incredible inflatable bounce house playground in the meadow at IRP. There is free parking on-site as well as free shuttle service available from the overflow parking at North Reading High School, 189 Park St.

Currently, there are more than 105 registered booth displays. Registration for booth displays closes on Saturday, Sept. 6. Contact the Chamber for more information on getting involved with one of the largest events held in town each year by visiting: http://readingnreadingchamberma.chambermaster.com/events.

The Chamber is working closely with the Board of Health and local food vendors to offer a variety of food options including wood-fired pizza, hot dogs, hamburgers, mac ‘n cheese, ice cream, and other treats.

There will be local entertainment aplenty, including local DJ Time of Your Life Entertainment spinning tunes all day.

The award-winning NRHS a cappella singers, NOTEorious, will wow the crowd with their performance, along with planned exhibitions from Cervizzi’s Martial Arts Academy (which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year), the North Reading School of Ballet, East Coast Dance Center, and the O’Shea Chaplin Academy of Irish Dance.

The Reading-North Reading Chamber gladly offers Town Day completely free of charge, including parking, shuttles, bounce houses, pony rides, and entertainment performances due to the generosity of the event sponsors, which includes signature sponsors The Savings Bank and Route 128 Honda. The events, permits and police details are paid for by booth vendors and generous sponsors, all without funding from the town.

“For local businesses, being a sponsor and having a booth is a great way to get in front of your current and potential customers at the biggest North Reading event of the year,” commented the Chamber’s marketing manager Jamie Bradley.

FOOD PANTRY DRIVE

Attendees are also invited to support the North Reading Food Pantry by dropping off their non-perishable donations during the event.
