Soggy weather didn’t dampen spirits at Welcome Back Carnival

BAM! When your dad’s a police officer you can bet that his pitch will be on-target at the dunk tank, as Leo DiFraia discovered when his dad Dave stepped up to the plate at Sunday’s Welcome Back Carnival at UCC moments before splashdown! (Courtesy Photo)

NORTH READING — The Union Congregational Church was filled with joy, laughter, and community spirit this past Sunday as neighbors gathered for the church’s annual Welcome Back Carnival.

Even a bit of rain couldn’t dampen the fun. Families and friends enjoyed games, crafts, face painting, and treats like cotton candy and popcorn. The popular “Dunk the Pastor” tank was a big hit, proving that soggy weather is no match for a determined community ready to celebrate.

The event, held immediately following the morning worship service, was designed to mark a new season of ministry, learning, and connection. Longtime members and new friends all joined together to share food, laughter, and
fellowship.

The Union Congregational Church, located at 148 Haverhill St., looks forward to continuing this spirit of welcome in the weeks ahead through worship, service projects, and programs for all ages. For more information, contact Pastor Gayle McGlauflin at gayle@nrucc.org or 978-664-3703.
