LYNNFIELD — The Lynnfield Public Library Foundation aims to support the library into the future and provide the tools it needs to unite the community and to serve as a cultural and informational home base.
While created in 2017, the foundation has been gearing up to raise awareness about the organization.
“Our mission is simple: To financially support the library in perpetuity,” said Library Foundation member/Library Trustee Karin Round. “The town still needs to fund baseline support, but successful foundation fundraising can transform the programs, physical features and services the library delivers.”
Over the last year, Round said board members have been added to the Lynnfield Library Foundation. Bylaws and policies were also shored up and finalized.
The board now consists of seven local residents. Library Foundation President Jonna Casey is a former educational leader. Library Foundation Secretary Reid Lavoie works as a practicing attorney in the office of a local state representative. Library Foundation Treasurer Karen Peluso has extensive fundraising experience, particularly as the founder of Neurofibromatosis Northeast.
Both Ann Hadley and Kendall Inglese work in public relations and have marketing experience in local fundraising for other organizations. Round, who is also a Library Trustee, previously helped the Friends of the Lynnfield Library establish their 501(c)(3) designation. Faith Honor-Coakley, a former Library Trustee and one of the original founders of the Foundation, continues to serve as a foundation member.
“New local advisors have been brought on board to help with our efforts,” said Round. “So far, nine prominent local leaders have joined this initiative. We’ll introduce them soon, but we are excited about what new support and advice can mean for both the foundation and the library. Next up, watch for an announcement about our fundraising campaign.”
