Information on the Nov. 4 City Election

MELROSE — Melrose voters can cast their ballot for the November 4, 2025 local election in one of three ways: In-person Early Voting, Vote by Mail, or In-person on Election Day.

The deadline to register to vote is Saturday, October 25 by 5 p.m. The City Clerk’s Office will be open until 5 p.m. on Saturday, October 25 for any eligible voter seeking to register. Alternatively, individuals can register to vote online at www.sec.state.ma.us/ovr/.

Vote By Mail

Mail-in ballots will be mailed to voters who completed a request to vote by mail. The deadline to request a mail-in ballot is Tuesday, October 28 at 5 p.m. Ballots can be returned in one of the following ways:

• Mailing it back in the postage-paid envelope provided;

• Hand-delivering your ballot to the Elections office at City Hall during normal business hours and early voting hours; or

• Using the secure ballot drop box located in the alleyway between City Hall and the Melrose post office.

Mail-in ballots cannot be dropped off at a polling place on Election Day.

Early Voting Begins Oct. 25

Early in-person voting will begin on Saturday, October 25 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Melrose City Hall, 562 Main St. Early voting will also take place at City Hall from Monday, October 27 through Thursday, October 30 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Friday, October 31 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

In-person Voting on Nov. 4

Election Day voting for all Melrose voters is held at the Melrose Veterans Memorial Middle School, 90 Melrose St., from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
