Preserving history

THE HISTORIC grave marker cleaning training event organized by the North Reading Historical Commission and the North Reading Historical & Antiquarian Society attracted a large contingent of volunteers. Held Sunday at the Park Street Cemetery, the biological cleaner used will take a few weeks to work its magic. Future cleanings will be held at the town’s cemeteries. Participants included: Charles Tyler (seated, front row); middle row, from left: Ginny Mills (Vice President, NRH&AS); Amelia Devin Freedman (Vice Chair, Reading Historical Commission); Kim Zecher, Dianne Heeley, Francine Coughlin (Chair, NRHC); Catherine Morrin (Select Board member); Nancy Fenton and Lois Vonverde; back row, from left: Mike Ludwig, Les Masterson, Anne Crissey, Lori Lynes, Deb Mahoney, Matthew Page (President, NRH&AS) and Brooke Rogers.
